Anti Racism, Anti Fascism Commission

Anti-racism and anti-fascism are central to the work of the Communist Party.

From Cable Street and the volunteers for liberty in Spain to the fight against fascism and neo-Nazism on the streets that carries on to this day, Britain’s Communists have a proud history of struggle. We work to keep alive this history alive and combat racist and chauvinistic nationalism with a celebration of socialist and working class national identity.

In Britain, our ruling class has not yet had to resort to fascism, but fascist and neo-Nazi groupings exist, aiming to recruit among the most vulnerable and alienated sections of the working class.

It is fundamentally important for the left and trade union movement to be on guard and to proactively combat these groups.

As ever, Communists work as part of the broad movement in a non-sectarian way and we have strong links with a organisations at a national and local level. As well as confronting fascists where they attempt to openly organise, Communists and our allies work to be active and visible in our communities, workplaces, schools and campuses, combatting racist and fascist ideas and making the case for working class unity.

Our Anti-Racism Anti-Fascism Commission is made up of Executive Committee members, District and Nation Representatives and specialists from across Britain. The Commission regularly organises a number of national and local events throughout the year including Holocaust Memorial Day, the Claudia Jones Commemoration and throughout Black History Month. The Commission produces educational and organising materials for Party branches across Britain.
