DESCRIPTION:Commemorate the life and political times of the outstanding activist and Communist Claudia Jones on 25 February at Highgate Cemetery\, Swain’s Lane\, London. \n\n\n\nClaudia Jones was a journalist and writer. She argued that people were attacked for their race\, gender and class. She spent time in a US Jail and was deported to Britain on her release. \n\n\n\nStarting at 1pm and ending by 2pm there will be an opportunity to both pay your respects\, network and listen to a number of speakers including – Fran Heathcote General Secretary PCS Union\, Roger Mckenzie International Editor from the Morning Star\, Dr Clare Holder Barrister and past director of Notting Hill Carnival\, Corinne Skinner Carter friend of Claudia Jones\, Cecil Gutzmore Pan African Activist and Robert Griffiths General Secretary of the CP. \n\n\n\nThe event will be introduced and closed by Ruth Styles the Chair of the CP.
